Our Story

How it all started...

The history of our congregation is a history of God’s goodness and grace to us over the years. St. Peter was founded in 1868 by a group of immigrants from Germany who were mostly from Mecklenburg and Pomerania. They settled about seven or eight miles northeast of Appleton, Wisconsin to establish their homes and make a livelihood in a land of unrestricted freedom of religion and economic independence.

Since 1868, God has blessed St. Peter as it has grown from a small country church to a congregation that has four worship services every week serving over 1,500 members. The Christian school that was also started in 1868 has grown, and we are blessed to now partner with parents and offer Christian education to 270 children in 3K through 8th Grade.

Expanding the vision...

In April 2009, St. Peter expanded its vision to reach even more people who are impacted by the world's changing culture by starting a downtown campus called The CORE. The CORE fulfills a niche in our ministry that helps us take the Gospel to people in a unique way. The physical building of our downtown campus is not your traditional church building, and worship itself is unique as well.  Heavily driven by technology, worship includes the timeless truths of the Bible as well as contemporary music led by the Worship Team.

OUR VISION...

St. Peter seeks to connect people in a personal, intimate, lifelong relationship with their Savior. We do that through worship that is relevant as well as through Life Groups where Christians can be real and relational.

Our goals are to create an environment where people can encourage each other daily to live their faith and to bring others into a relationship with their Savior.
